Scott Kewley, Virgin Media’s director of digital entertainment, said: “The new channels we’ve added will enable customers to keep up with the news from around the world, ramp up the suspense with an exciting drama or listen to the latest music on the go.

“Their arrival means we’ve more than doubled the amount of channels available on the go to our TV customers since the service launched two years ago, further extending our lead as the provider of the most comprehensive entertainment-anywhere service in the UK.”

The 15 channels are: Al Jazeera (Arabic and English), ARY News, B4U Music, E!, Forces TV, France 24 (English and French), Ginx, Lahme, NDTV 24*7, NHK World HD, The Africa Channel, TV5 and Zing.

Virgin TV Anywhere launched in November 2012 and the company has regularly added new content to the service, with the addition of 45 live channels online and 65 joining the dedicated app.

The company updated its Android app on a load of new devices back in July to coincide with the launch of the LG G3, plus added Sky’s full inclusive lineup of channels including Sky 1, Sky 2, Sky Living, Sky Living It, Sky Arts 1, Sky News and Sky Sports News.

While regular Virgin TV customers can access Virgin TV Anywhere online, the iOS and Android apps are only available to TiVo subscribers.
