Virgin TV Anywhere, Virgin Media’s web-based catch up service, has added MTV, Channel 4 and 19 extra digital TV channels to its line up.
The 21 extra live channels means that 66 channels are now available for Virgin Media subscribers to watch online.
SyFy brings the likes of Defiance and Lost Girl to the mix while the arrival of Channel 4 and More4 will satisfy those cravings for One Born Every Minute and repeats of Father Ted.
Scott Kewley, Virgin Media’s multiscreen product director, said: “We know our customers love being able to watch whatever they want at a time that suits them, and by adding 21 live channels to Virgin TV Anywhere at no extra cost we’re also enabling them to watch their favourite shows wherever they want too.”
The new channels are as follows:
- Animal Planet
- Channel 4
- Discovery Channel
- Discovery History
- Discovery Home & Health
- Discovery Science
- Discovery Shed
- Discovery Turbo
- More 4
- Nick Jnr
- Sky 2
- Sky Arts 1
- Sky LivingIt
- Universal Channel
As well as this, it’s been announced that Discovery Networks’ TLC will be arriving on Virgin TV Anywhere from April 30th onwards.
Virgin TV Anywhere can be access via desktop browsers or mobile apps. All Virgin Media TV customers can access the desktop app, while the iPhone and iPad apps are only available to Virgin Media TiVo customers.
If you’re a TiVo subscriber, you can also use the Virgin TV Anywhere apps to manage your recordings on the go as well as rate shows and manage Wish Lists. Check out our hands-on with the Virgin TV Anywhere iPad app here. An Android version of the app is in the pipeline and is due for release sometime this year, we just don’t know exactly when yet.
