What are TalkTalk Boosts?

TalkTalk Boosts are extra bolt-on bundles of channels that you can customise your TalkTalk TV subscription with.

Boosts range from premium Sky Sports (£30/month) and Sky Movies (£16/month) to cheaper packages including the Kids Boost (£5/month) and the Music Boost (£5/month).

You can chop and change your packages to suit you – Boosts can be dropped after a month, so you can do things like sign up to a Premier League season’s worth of coverage on Sky Sports and get in the kids channels for the school holidays – and cancel the Boosts in the off-season and term time months.

With a TalkTalk Boost you also get access to on demand content, so you can watch the best shows whenever you feel like it.

That’s TalkTalk Boosts in a nutshell. Here’s how they work.

TalkTalk Boosts: How do they work?

Adding Boosts can be done online during sign up or through the TalkTalk Player on your TV Box. Scrolling through the various menus lets you find what you want, enter the PIN and go.

To cancel, you’ll need to sign in to your TalkTalk account online and manage things from there.

TalkTalk Boosts: What can you get?

Now, if you’re a movie fan then there are a few things at your disposal. Firstly, there’s the Sky Movies Boost.

That boost costs £15 a month and you get a month’s access to all 11 Sky Movies channels live and on-demand. This means you’ll be able to watch the latest and greatest blockbusters months before the DVDs are out and in some cases years before they’re on Netflix and Amazon.

If you want even more films, there’s also PictureBox. This gives you 60 on-demand movies for £5 a month.

It’s cheap, but there’s some good stuff: Hot Fuzz, The Bourne Supremacy, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. For next to nothing you can usually be sure there’s some decent movies on.

The Music Boost (£5/month) gets you the most popular music channels including MTV Music, The Box, Magic and more.

For younger viewers and overgrown kidults alike there’s the Kids Boost (£5/month) This gives you Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, Disney Jr, Cartoon Network and more.

The Entertainment Boost (£10/month) gets you over 25 entertainment and factual channels including Sky 1, Universal Channel, Sky Living, TLC, Comedy Central, National Geographic and others.

If you want a bit of everything, the Entertainment Extra Boost gives you everything you get with Entertainment, Music and Kids for £15/month.

Sky 1 and 2, Sky Living, Sky Living It, Sky Arts 1 and 2 and Sky Sports News HQ come included with the Plus TV package (£18.50/month) as standard.

TalkTalk TV also lets expat viewers sign up for a range of international channels including South Africa, Ghana, Japan, Brazil and more.

TalkTalk Boosts: Conclusion

The best thing about all of these boosts is that you can buy them when you need them for a month at a time. And when you’re finished gorging on all that extra content then you can just cancel that monthly subscription and go back to paying next to nothing for your normal TalkTalk service.

It’s great for times like school holidays, as the Boosts can be bought for months at a time, and things like Formula 1 and Premier League seasons, or when friends and family come to visit and you want to put some films on.

There’s also a ton of World TV boosts, letting you get Bollywood films, TV from Brazil, Africa, Japan and movies and TV from all over the world.

Check ’em out for yourself and let us know which of these boosts you end up using the most.
