YouView has launched a major recruitment drive that will see its technology team grow by half over the next year.
The platform, which offers a mix of free-to-air and subscription channels, is looking to recruit 50 developers, test engineers and project managers to its workforce in a bid to ‘spearhead the next stages of pioneering connected TV development’.
YouView, which is backed by the all the major free-to-air broadcasters as well as Arqiva, BT and TalkTalk, said the new staff would be working with technology including IP-delivered video, HTML5 and cloud-based services across a wide range of devices.
“YouView is a young, ambitious company creating products that are used by millions of customers. We’re looking for talented people who can bring new ideas to our tech teams and help create the consumer devices, mobile apps and highly scalable network services that will continue to move YouView forward,” said Piers Lomax, YouView’s head of engineering.
Caroline Seton, Head of HR at YouView said that the firm was now entering an ambitious new phase, after it secured funding from its partners for the next five years.
“Over the next year, we’ll be reaching out to the best talent to help us with new product developments that will ensure continued success for YouView,” she said.
