Netflix nabs 15 new Arrested Development episodes, arriving May 26

Netflix has announced that it’s nabbed the entire next season of Arrested Development. All 15 episodes of the new series will be available to watch instantly from May 26 onwards.

The long-awaited fourth season of Arrested Development will be instantly available to Netflix subscribers in the UK and Ireland on the morning of May 26.

The show officially launches at a minute past midnight in Pacific Daylight Time, meaning British and Irish viewers can start watching from 8:01AM onwards. You’d better day the day off or pray for a snow day – the way things are going the latter seems like a distinct possibility.

The long-awaited show has been preceded with much fanfare and gusto from Netflix’s cheif content officer Ted Sarandos who said:

Arrested Development is now widely viewed as one of the top TV comedies of all time and Mitch Hurwitz is bringing it to Netflix in a brand new way, crafted for the on-demand generation that has come to discover the show in the years since it last appeared on TV. The highly anticipated return of this show is sure to make history all over again.”

Series creator and executive producer Mitch Hurwitz added:

“Ted said that? Wow. Well don’t print this, obviously, but he’s going to be immensely disappointed. In truth we are doing something very ambitious that can only be done with Netflix as partners and on their platform. Finally my simple wish for the show is coming true: that it be broadcast every second around the clock to every television, computer or mobile device in existence.”

Netflix subscribers will be able to catch up with the latest exploits of Michael Bluth and the clan on Windows and Mac desktops and laptops, iPhone, iPad, most Android phones and tablets and Xbox 360 and PS3.

Arrested Development is the latest in a string of Netflix exclusives including the House of Cards remake starring Kevin Spacey and Sense8, an original series helmed by the Wachowski brothers and Babylon 5 creator Joe Straczynski.
