£20 of free apps from Amazon as Appstore turns one

Amazon AppstoreApp store anniversaries are quickly becoming a day worth highlighting in your calendar and today it’s the turn of Amazon, who is celebrating by giving away a bundle of apps Kindle and Android users everywhere.

Having been 12 months since UK customers could first access Amazon’s new Appstore via their Kindle Fires and droids, the company is offering up a mix of apps and games worth £20, absolutely free. Based around Amazon’s existing ‘Free App of the Day’ scheme, Jorrit Van der Meulen, Vice President, EU Kindle states, “for our first birthday we wanted to go a bit further and offer them (customers) a special ‘Free App of the Day Anniversary Bundle’ which is worth over £20.

Today’s offering draws from some of the most popular apps and games which have previously been available through the ‘Free App a Day’ scheme and includes:

  • Jamie’s 20 Minute Meals
  • Drawing Pad
  • Angry Birds (Ad Free)
  • PAC-MAN HD
  • World of Goo
  • Shazam Encore
  • Swiftkey
  • Calengoo
  • Sprinkle
  • Paper Camera

We can certainly vouch for some of these fantastic apps, but whether you’re familiar with the lineup or not, they’re all free. Head to www.amazon.co.uk/getappstore from your Android device if you haven’t yet got the Amazon Appstore and remember to allow ‘Unknown sources’ in your security settings so you can install it. Happy apping.
