How to download Amazon’s apps for free
If you have an Amazon Fire tablet or Fire phone, then nabbing your free apps is dead simple. Just head to Amazon’s online apps store on your device and you’ll find the bundle waiting for you on the main page.
However, if you have an Android phone or tablet, you’ll need to do a little more work for your free apps, as you actually have to install Amazon’s apps store on your device.
First up, head to www.amazon.co.uk/getappstore. Tap the button that says ‘Install Amazon App Store’ and the apk file should download onto your phone or tablet.
While that’s downloading, head into your device’s settings menu and then go to either Security or Applications. In one of the two, you should see an option to ‘allow installation of apps from unknown sources’. Make sure that this option is ticked or you won’t be able to install the app store app.
When the apk file has downloaded, tap it in your device’s notifications bar. The Amazon App Store will then install on your Android device. When that’s done, open it up (you’ll find it in your device’s apps folder) and you should find the bundle advertised there on the front page.
