Android 3.0 Gingerbread-powered Nexus Two coming to Carphone Warehouse?

We thought it might never happen but it looks like a Nexus Two will be hitting the UK in time for Christmas, with Carphone Warehouse nabbing exclusive flogging rights.

According to London free paper City AM, the follow up to the Nexus One will be sold both online and in high street stores. Nothing but the name has been mentioned so far, so there’s no word on who will be making the phone although the rumour is that it won’t be Samsung.

In January Motorola announced that it was going to release “one direct to consumer device with Google” this year so we reckon that the Nexus Two could be the elusive Motorola Shadow we spotted earlier in the year.

We also heard a rumour a couple of weeks ago that Motorola was working on a super top-secret phone powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. Exciting stuff no?

We’re waiting to hear back from Motorola about this so stay tuned. Both Carphone Warehouse and Google declined to comment.
