As has become tradition, the latest version Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which was announced yesterday, brought a host of additional features including an all important easter egg, can you guess what it is?

Building the most popular mobile OS in the world is a serious business. All the years of refinement, the months in R&D, the millions of dollars, hundreds of meetings and last minute tweaks don’t sound inherently like fun, but it’s nice to know that alongside all the challenging technical innovation, the team behind Android make time to have a bit of fun with their work.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was unveiled yesterday as part of proceeding at Google’s I/O developer conference, as well as showcasing the latest version of their mobile OS, Google revealed the first device able to run out out-the-box, the new Google Nexus 7 tablet. In addition the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the first smartphone to sport the new OS and it’s with either of these devices that you should be able to evoke the powers of the Jelly Bean easter egg.

An early release of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was given to those at Google I/O following the keynote, whilst the public will have to wait into mid-July for the official general release, which brings UI and search improvements as well as new features like offline voice commands and Google Now.
