Android Tweetdeck 1.0.3 now available in the Market, adds manual bit.ly link shortening

The latest version of Tweetdeck for Android (1.0.3), brings manual link shortening, Twitpic integration and and landscape viewing mode. It’s available to download from the Market right now.

Now, when you’ve pasted a link into the text field of Tweetdeck, a simple tap of the menu button will bring up a Shorten URLs option which uses bit.ly to shrink links. From the same menu there’s also the option to select a photo service to upload pics – you now have the choice of either yfrog or Twitpic, whereas before pictures were automatically uploaded via yfrog.

A landscape viewing mode has also been added, which is great news for Dell Streak and Samsung Galaxy Tab owners.

Improvements to Facebook integration have been included too. Single sign-on has been added, so when you sign in to the standard Facebook app you’ll be signed into the Facebook account you’ve synced to Tweetdeck as well.

A test release of 1.0.3 was launched late last week over on Tweetdeck’s site and was available to download and install manually. The full finished version however can be downloaded from the Market now – so no faffing around in the settings and making sure the ‘Unknown sources’ box is checked.
