Android users can find a home with new Rightmove app

When you are on the search for a new gaff one of the biggest stresses can be visiting all the potential new homes and of course the estate agents. Rightmove, the 8th most popular website in the UK, lets users browse potential new houses from the comfort of their own home. The website stores a whopping 20,000 different agents spanning the furthest points of the UK and it will soon be available on Android.

Rightmove app for Android

The iPhone application for Rightmove is somewhat of an antique, having first launched back in 2009. Plus those that own a Samsung Smart TV have been enjoying the app since 2011 – so it has been a bit of a wait for Android users.

However the wait is now over and Droids will be able to download the Rightmove app for free via Google Play from Monday, March 19th. The app includes full-screen photos and floorplans for all its new homes, plus a built-in Google Street View option with GPS.

If you have an account with Rightmove all your data will be automatically synched. So you can mark places of interest via the app, to be shared with your partner and / or family on the home PC later. Check out the video of the Android app in action from Bernie Phillips, Mobile Delivery Manager at Rightmove, below:

Rightmove director Miles Shipside commented: “We’re seeing a real shift in consumer behaviour as home-movers increasingly incorporate mobile platforms into their property search process. They’re looking to get the latest properties, stay connected with the people they are searching with, and search on the move

“The addition of a new Rightmove Android app to our suite of home-moving platforms will further enhance this trend, and allows us to build on the success of our iPhone app, iPad app and M-Site.”
