It was only a matter of time before someone, somewhere thought it would be a great idea to open an Android shop, selling Android phones, tablets, and paraphernalia. Unfortunately, this didn’t happen in the UK, but about as far away as you can get, Australia.
Telstra, Australian telecoms giant launched the new store in Melbourne’s CBD. This Android Haven is spread over 154 square metres, with little green robots everywhere you look and a host of Google-centric elements within. These include Google Earth on a giant screen-matrix, Androidify walls so you can make a YouDroid, as well as a huge touch-screen for some over-sized Angry Birds fun.
Telstra appear to have totally embraced the theme with open arms, with Androidland looking unashamedly fun. If you’re in Australia and fancy visiting a place where Gingerbread smells fill the shopping space and gadgets and green robots adorn … well … everywhere, visit Androidland in the Telstra Store 246 Bourke Street (Cnr Swanston & Bourke) Melbourne, VIC, 3000.
