Rovio CEO Mikael Hed has announced he plans to turn the Angry Birds game into an animated series.
What was once supposed to be a full blown movie has now transformed into a more restrained episodic iteration.
“We have been looking at that for quite a while, and that is definitely one of my personal big focus areas right now – to work on broadcast content for Angry Birds” said Hed in an interview with British TV industry site C21media.net (requires subscription)
Angry Birds continues to spread its wings across the gaming market. The game is now available on desktop PCs and is soon to be launched on Wii, Xbox and PS3.
As if being able to play Angry Birds on just about every platform available wasn’t enough, it is also soon to be available in board game form. Mattel are currently developing a real-life miniature version of the game which will feature tiny plastic birds and pigs. The board game will be called Angry Birds Knock On Wood and is pegged for release in May.
