Apple files lawsuit against Nokia in the UK

We love a bit of legal phone-based drama and Apple likes to keep us entertained. Not content with its ongoing lawsuits against Nokia in the US, Apple is now suing Nokia on our own fair shores. The lawsuits are all to do with alleged patent infringements on Nokia’s part.

“We are investigating the claims, which appear to be based on nine implementation patents already in suit between the two companies in the United States,” Nokia spokesman Mark Durrant told Reuters. However, Nokia has also said that Apple owes it royalties for using basic Nokia technologies for sending emails and downloading applications.

All this is completely aside from Apple’s pending lawsuit against HTC and all the other legal shenanigans we’ve frankly lost track of. Don’t hold your breath for news of the outcomes though, it’ll be years before any of these cases are resolved.
