iMessage is fantastic when it works, but Apple’s smart messaging service has been seeing a lot of issues as of late. Messages can often be delayed, or simply fail to go through Apple’s servers at all. The service has been particularly buggy since the release of iOS 7, but the company is planning a fix, according to TechCrunch.
Apple says in a statement that it is “aware of an issue that affects a fraction of a percent of our iMessage users”, and that a software update will roll out shortly that should quash the bugs. There is a workaround to try in the meantime, though: turning off iMessage and resetting network settings has worked for some users, but others say it’s merely a temporary stopgap.
There’s no definitive timeframe for when Apple will release its update, but we’ll let you know as soon as it does.
