Tonight Apple is rumoured to be releasing the next version of the Apple iPad, rumoured to be called either the Apple iPad 3 or Apple iPad HD. It’s now rumoured to be hitting the shops on March 16th – just under two weeks later.
An Apple insider described as someone who has ‘been reliable in the past’ has revealed to 9to5 Mac that a big event is being planned at the Apple Store for Friday March 16th, which we’re assuming to be the day the new iPad hits the shops.
Last year the Apple iPad 2 was announced on March 3rd before being hitting shops in Europe on March 25th.
This is also the day that a new Apple store concession is rumoured to opens in Harrods department store in London. It makes sense for Apple to combine the two events.
We’ll bring you more news on the new iPad, which could now be called the Apple iPad HD and the rumoured iOS 5.1 update for phones and tablets later today, in the mean time but check out our Apple iPad rumour round-up here.
