Indications are that Apple will be announcing something very soon following news the company will be annoucing a media-related product in. New York at the end of the month.
All Things Digital is reporting Apple is holding ‘an important – but not large scale’ event in New York at the end of January, focusing in media-related entertainment.
We’re not expecting it to be the iPad 3, the iPad 2 launched in March 2011, it’s also unlikely to be Apple’s long-rumoured television, which would surely launch in California.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services is reportedly due to speak at the event, which indicates it could be software related, perhaps an announcement around iTunes, Apps, iBooks, as well as iAd and iCloud.
This type of announcement follows Apple’s launch pattern – rewind 12 months and Apple announced The Daily, News Corp’s iPad-based newspaper.
Apple’s PR team declined to comment to All Things Digital, so we can only speculate for now, but we’ll bring you more news as soon as we get it.
