Apple to stop offering free iPhone 4 Bumper cases at the end of September

Apple has released a statement on its iPhone 4 Case Program page, which says that it will stop dishing out free bumper cases at the end of the month:

“We now know that the iPhone 4 antenna attenuation issue is even smaller than we originally thought. A small percentage of iPhone 4 users need a case, and we want to continue providing them a Bumper case for free. For everyone else, we are discontinuing the free case program on all iPhone 4s sold after September 30, 2010. We are also returning to our normal returns policy for all iPhone 4s sold after September 30. Users experiencing antenna issues should call AppleCare to request a free Bumper case.”

If you’ve already bought a Bumper but haven’t yet got a refund, you have until the end of the month to get it.

Credit card purchases should already be refunded, but if you bought one in store with cash, you’ll need to take your receipt in in order to get your £25 back. You did keep the receipt, didn’t you?

If you’ve just got an iPhone 4 but have not yet ordered a Bumper, you can now do so thanks to this handy app which allows you to order one directly from your iPhone 4.
