Christmas is nearly upon us and if you haven’t finished Christmas shopping but you are heading to the high street, today’s app is for you. The Argos catalogue has been a staple in Christmas households for year – who has memories of flicking through, circling wanted gifts, then not so subtly leaving the catalogue out to be seen by parents? Argos for iOS and Android lets you quickly search, reserve and order items choosing between 25,000 products from your nearest store.
Launch the app and you’ll see a selection of hot products, along with quick links to browse, price and stock check, latest price cuts and store locator. Start by tapping ‘My Argos’ and setting your local store, this means every time you search for product, you’ll instantly see stock levels in that store.
At the top is a search bar you can quickly use to locate favourite products, results are displayed in categories with a list of top results underneath. View product details, the catalogue number, price (including any saving) and availability. Each product also has useful customer reviews that are worth checking out, collated with an average star rating.
If you’re unsure which product to get, tap ‘Shortlisted’ and you’ll be able to view a list of all products and share the list by email – perfect if you need advice on what present to get or want to share a birthday present list.
One of our favourite features of the Argos app is the ability to make reservations with Check & Reserve. Once you’ve chosen a product and added it to your trolley and it will be held at your local store until the end of the next day, just enter your phone number and email address.
Other features include the Store checker where you can use the catalogue number to check stock in a local store. In store using the app to find a product code is actually quicker than flicking through the Argos catalogue. You can also order for delivery.
Overall, the Argos app is a worthwhile download before Christmas shopping, it’s user-friendly and time-saving features like store availability and reserve online, will be invaluable to busy people – and a lot easier to carry.
