We’re all agog about the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime at Recombu; we’re very very keen on getting our mitts on one.
Turns out that if you are too then we might all be in luck; gadget retailer Clove has just gone and posted a pre-order page for the Tegra 3-powered Qwerty-rockin’ Android slate.
£550.80 will get you a 32GB version of the Prime with the Qwerty keyboard dock included, or a standalone 64GB edition (without the keyboard).
It’s pricey for sure, but for your money you get a 10.1-inch Android tablet with up to 18 hours of battery life (12 without the keyboard dock) a mini HDMI port, microSD slot (up to 32GB extra) and an 8-megapixel camera that records video at up to 1080p. There’s a 1.2-megapixel front facer as well for use with GTalk (and for taking fuzzy self portrait shots).
Powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 3 quad core/penta core CPU, the Transformer Prime will ship with Android 3.2 Honeycomb, but an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is most certainly on the cards. For an idea of how Ice Cream Sandwich will run on the Transformer Prime, check out Nvidia’s hands-on video here.
An early Christmas present to yourself if you’ve got a spare £500 and a bit lying around. Somebody buy us one please!
