Asus EeePad Transformer judged Product of the Year 2011

Beating stiff competition from Apple, the Asus EeePad Transformer Honeycomb tablet has been judged Product of The Year at the 2011 Trusted Reviews Awards Powered by Duracell.

Asus’ innovative dual-core Android tablet with its detachable keyboard beat was also judged Tablet of the Year, beating the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Apple iPad 2.

Samsung was victorious elsewhere, winning Mobile Phone of the Year for the Samsung Galaxy S2, triumphing against the Apple iPhone 4S and Orange San Francisco.

TrustedReviews Editor Cliff Jones said: “We felt that the Transformer deserved to win in both categories due to its clever design, build quality, versatility and excellent value. It impressed our judges who had no hesitation in naming it Product Of The Year 2011.”

Other winners include the Nikon D7000, which was judged Best Digital Camera and the Panasonic TX-P50G30, which was best 3D TV.

Trusted Reviews’ 2.5-million readers helped whittle the longlist down to three finalists, where a panel of judges (including Recombu’s own Hannah Bouckley) helped select the winner.
