Barclaycard Wireless Festival to become first cashless festival

At the Barclaycard Wireless Festival this year, Barclaycard is offering all its attendees a wristband dubbed PayBand to make all their festival purchases with. Making it the first fully contactless-enabled music event in the UK.

The specially designed wristband (pictured above) will be accepted by all vendors at the festival and customers will not need to enter a PIN or sign there name – making the whole process super fast. The payments will be capped individually at £20 per transaction and users can top-up online or at the festival with a Visa, Debit or Mastercard.

There will also be help points and Barclaycard staff at the festival to check balances and report any lost or stolen bands. The PayBand comes with a 100% fraud guarantee from Barclaycard and will be automatically deactivated after the festival, with remaining money refunded to the card you topped-up with.

Those that opt for the PayBand will also have exclusive access to “Barclaycard Unwind” privileges, including fast track entry, goody bags, the chance to win back stage tours, VIP upgrades and entry to the Barclaycard Unwind perk park – with luxury loos and a photo-booth with Facebook link-up.

Supply is limited and so Barclaycard recommend that you apply sooner rather then later. You can do so here.
