Best Network of 2015: Winner and Nominees

Recombu Awards Best Network 2015: Whilst we get the job of picking the best smartphones, tablets and accessories from the past 12 months, we also share the responsibility of each Recombu Awards with you, our readers.

This year’s massive Recombu Awards 2015 celebrations named the best phone of 2015, best tablet of 2015 and best value phone of 2015 among others, but we left the choice of best network 2015 to the people who use every service out there from every corner of the UK: our beloved readers.

We gave you the task of picking the best network out there right now, with all the big UK names in the running: BT Mobile, EE, O2, TalkTalk Mobile, Tesco Mobile, Three, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile. So without further ado, here’s your chosen 2015 winner and the runner up.

Best Network 2015 Winner: O2

As a company, interesting developments are going on behind the scenes at O2. What hasn’t changed is the carrier’s commitment to its customers and the range of innovative tariffs, devices and experiences it offers.

We’ve seen ongoing efforts in the multitude of programmes under O2’s control, from O2 Recycle and O2 Refresh, to becoming the UK’s first network offering a Cyanogen-powered smartphone to its customers. It’s perhaps O2’s broad range of talents that won our readers over this year, but whatever it was it’s well deserved. Congratulations O2.

Best Network 2015 Special Mention (Runner Up): EE

This year’s second place went to EE, who won your top vote last year. The carrier’s continued expansion of the UK’s largest 4G network probably had something to do with this year’s ranking as well as rolling out more 4G connected products like the EE Eagle tablet and the incredibly affordable EE Rook smartphone. So whilst they didn’t retain the crown, we still extend our praise to all those building one the country’s best networks at EE.
