BlackBerry Torch 9800 released on Three

Three has announced that it will be selling the BlackBerry Torch 9800, RIM’s touchscreen slider phone, which is also the first handset to be rocking BlackBerry OS 6.

You can pick the Torch up in black on a £35/month contract. This nabs you a very generous bundle of 2,000 any network minutes, 5,000 Three-to-Three minutes, 5,000 texts and 1GB of data. The major downside is that the BlackBerry Torch handset will still set you back £249 – which doesn’t seem like a massively subsidised price to us.

Three has also launched a new pay as you go offer for BlackBerry handsets. For now you can pick up the BlackBerry Curve 3G on Three’s ‘All in One’ plan; for a £10 top up you’ll enjoy 3,000 texts, 100 minutes and 500MB of data.

Of course you’ll also have to pay for the handset outright on the pay-as-you-go plans, but if it sounds good to you then keep an eye out for further BlackBerry handsets available on pay-as-you-go with Three before the year is out.
