Browsing on Symbian just got better: Opera Mini 5.1 beta released

Opera Mini 5.1 has been released for Nokia Symbian handsets in beta form. The beta of the popular mobile web browser offers tabbed browsing, speed-dial-style bookmarks and “significantly faster start-up time”.

Before this release, Symbian users were stuck with the Java version of Opera Mini which isn’t really in the same league as the ported version. Now, like iPhone, BlackBerry and Android users before them, Nokia owners can take full advantage of the optimised browser and integration with applications for a less annoying and more seamless browsing experience.

Timely news, as the native Symbian browser didn’t fare too well in our epic OS showdown this week. To get the browser download, simply visit m.opera.com from your handset.
