A couple of car app releases have hit our dashboard this morning which, if you’re a motorist are worth a quick spot check.
First up is the AA’s Safety Camera App, a handy app that’ll give you clear warning as to when a pesky speed camera is on the horizon.
Available for iPhone and Android, AA Safety Camera is free to download, but there’s a subscription required to use the service afterthe 30 day trial period runs out. Costs work out at £2.99 for a month, £9.99 for a year and £19.99 for three years.
The app, powered by the RoadPilot Omni Database of camera locations features voice alerts that warn you when to slow down and a progress bar which indicates your distance to a camera.
In other car app news, Auto Trader and Three have announced a tie-in that will see future Android phones launched on the netwrok next year coming with the Auto Trader Android app pre-installed.
The app will allow you to “search the largest range of used cars in the UK anytime anywhere,” searching against terms such as mileage, car age, manual/auto transmission and fuel type. To clarify, this isn’t any different from the free Android app you can install directly from the Market now, more a fruit of Three and Auto Trader’s realtionship which has existed since the days of the Planet 3 app portal.
