However you feel about Brazil’s World Cup semi-final performance, we’re hoping our latest competition – to win a pair of Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear Samba headphones – will put a smile on your face.

Colour pop

It’s fair to say Brazil didn’t have the best World Cup finish, but whether you’re celebrating or commiserating this fact, we wanted to brighten your day with the chance to win a pair of special edition, Brazil-themed Sennheiser Momentum En-Ear Samba headphones worth £170.

Arguably the company’s most stylish and comfortable cans to date, these things come in a dedicated carry case, feature Brazil-style yellow and green detailing and adopt a more compact build than the original Momentum headphones, which we recently encountered at the #WhatsYourMomentum cube in Covent Garden.

Watch the video below to see us trying them out — making music with the funky Mogees system by hitting bicycle wheels with spoons. Seriously.

The Sambas use 18-ohm drivers of Sennheiser’s own design, and we’re mightily impressed with the range and clarity of sound on offer. The bass tones are nicely balanced, while the mids and highs offer plenty of detail and clarity, making these a great pair of all-rounders.

As well as the eye-catching colour scheme, the Sambas feature Alcantara on the headband and the ear cups, which do a decent job of blocking out any external din. You can swap out a regular lead for Senheisser’s own remote-laden one too, designed to work with iOS devices, letting you control music playback as well as making and taking calls.
