Deezer and Soundrop team-up to bring live music to users across the globe

On demand music service Deezer and music discovery service Soundrop are tonight setting up the last in a run of live performances with acclaimed musicians from around the world.

The Deezer room, which tonight will play host to famed French producer Yuksek, will allow free and paying Deezer users to watch a live performance from Yuksek and even ask questions about the producer and the music industry in general.

Deezer, which recently announced its plans to launch in the US, has already amassed some 5 million paying customers and is looking to up that figure further by taking the fight to leading rival Spotify on one of its most lucrative battlegrounds. What’s more, joining forces with Soundrop grants the French-based music streaming service a greater skill set with regards to music discovery and assembling live performances, thus offering more to its users.

Tonight’s performer Yuksek stated, “Music’s all about bringing people closer together – not just with each other, but with artists too – without borders or limits. These listening rooms are unique in that people from all over the world can come together and share their experiences of the music they love, and it’s pretty cool that the artists get invited too.

Yuksek will be also be part of a live Q&A using real-time chat with users in the Deezer room, which you can find here. As well as online streaming, Deezer has a number of free-to-download mobile apps on iPhone, iPadAndroid ,Windows Phone and BlackBerry OS.
