eBay has unveiled its Windows Phone 7 app, and it looks very stylish indeed. It builds on the success of eBay apps on other smartphones, with the company claiming it’ll do $1.5 billion of transactions through mobile this year alone.
As you can see, eBay for WP7 looks very different to versions on iPhone and BlackBerry, fitting into Microsoft’s design with its fonts, coloured blocks and swipe-based user interface.
The app lets you search for items and place bids (or Buy It Now), but you can also save your most frequent searches, and also create To Do lists to ensure you don’t forget specific tasks.
Oh, and according to eBay, you can also set different backgrounds and colour themes to personalise the app. I’m guessing that the app will also make use of WP7’s live tiles feature, so you can see when an auction you’re bidding in is ending right from your homescreen.
eBay’s BlackBerry app showed how the company is happy to dig into specific features for different smartphones, and the WP7 version looks like continuing the trend. Hopefully it’ll come to the UK for launch this month too.
