Time is ticking away on EE’s exclusivity over the UK’s 4G airwaves, but before the likes of Vodafone, O2 and Three get on this high speed ride, the current top dog is unveiling some additional SIM-only plans to entice new users to the fast side.
EE has more than once mentioned the incredible speed advantage on offer over its 4G network; claiming to reach data speeds around five times faster than that of current 3G speeds (based on the UK’s 1.5Mbps average). In practice we have to concede that so long as you’re in one of the UK’s growing number of 4G enabled cities, such as London, these claims hold out.
So what’s on offer from these new plans? Well for the most part you’ll receive the same treatment as any longer term EE customer; including unlimited calls and texts, access to WiFi on the London Underground and 2 for 1 cinema tickets.

EE’s existing tariffs have been criticised for being a little too dear for the average mobile consumer and although these new 30 day plans aren’t any cheaper, they allow users who already have the latest 4G-capable hardware to try a taste of that additional speed without having to commit to anything serious.
The network has already expanded its plans and packages greatly since launch last year and at this stage it offers customers 24 month 4G or 24 month roaming plans, 12 month 4G plans, 12 month SIM-only 4G plans and now 30 day SIM-only 4G plans.
