EE will insta-charge your phone in-store

EE’s smart new ‘Power To The People’ scheme allows customers to pop into any high street store and pick up a fully-charged power bar when they run low on juice.

EE is leaping to the rescue of customers who find themselves in dire need of extra power when they’re out and about, by distributing free smartphone chargers to all active customers over the next few weeks. Best of all, if you find yourself in truly dire straits with a dead Power Bar as well as a depleted phone, you can dodge into any EE store and swap the knackered charger for a fresh, fully charged one.

And there’s no limit on how often you swap out your old charger for a new one, great news if you’re never off the Twitters and Facebooks.

Am I eligible and how do I claim my EE Power Bar?

Customers on EE’s 30 day, 12, 18 or 24 month mobile plans will be eligible for EE’s Power to the People scheme, as well as Pay As You Go customers who have been with EE for over three months.

To nab your Power Bar, you just need to text ‘POWER’ to 365 when the scheme officially launches, in the coming weeks (no specific start date just yet). In return you’ll receive a promotional code, which you can redeem in store for your power bar. Of course, the text will cost you 35p, which begs the question: why is the text thing even necessary?

Still, with an offer this good, it’s hard to complain.
