Eurovision metal gods Lordi launch their own iPhone game

Remember Lordi? The Finnish metal band who stormed to Eurovision victory in 2006 with their song Hard Rock Hallelujah, decimating a field of Eurocheese with The Power Of Rawk alone? Yep, them. Well, they’ve just launched an iPhone game.

It’s called Lordi The Game, and is promoting the band’s new album: Babez for Breakfast. You might think the game would be a Guitar Hero knock-off, but you’d be wrong. It’s a blood-fuelled fighting game, except with music rhythm controls.

What that means is that you tap along to the music – two songs from the album are included – to slay all manner of undead enemies. Each level you complete rewards you with exclusive footage created by the band, and they’ve provided the voiceover too.

More Eurovision winners should jump on this bandwagon. If there isn’t a Cliff Richard-branded Doodle Jump clone on the App Store by Christmas, we’ll be sad.
