Facebook for Android updated to 1.6.0 now supports video uploads

Another raft of tweaks to the official Facebook for Android app have arrived; this one’s a manual update so load up the Market app on your phone and head on over to the ‘My apps’ section.

The main big deal about this latest update is that you can now post videos directly to your wall on the go. Perfect for auto-blogging/logging the data-stream on the fly, or just embarrassing drunk friends via the medium of mobile video clips (as well as pictures).

Another neat feature is that some Facebook pages seem to have been better integrated within the news feed; tapping on a link to a page takes you to the page within the app itself instead of loading up your Android phone’s browser. This both saves time and looks less messy.

That said, when clicking on a few links to event pages and the like, we still go redirected to the usual ‘m.facebook.com’ versions of pages – hopefully the 1.6.1 update will fix this.

Changes to Facebook for Android we’d love to see include the ability to tag pictures a la Windows Phone 7 Mango, as well as the ability to create albums within the app instead of the simple ‘one upload at a time’ deal. What features would you most like to see in future Facebook for Android updates?
