FlickrShow photo streaming app scoops Vodafone’s AppStar prize

The winning app of Vodafone’s AppStar competition has just been revealed.

FlickrShow, developed by Pedro Campos who bags himself a cool €100,000,  is a photo streaming app that allows you to search photos by keyword, colour, name and location – so by using  GPS, you can search for any photos taken near you.

There’s a desktop widget, which allows you to view photo slideshows on the homescreen of your phone, and you can also bookmark photos and slideshows for later viewing.

The app was developed for Vodafone’s 360 platform and will be made available for download soon.

We’re waiting to hear back from Vodafone for details on when the app will be available to Vodafone 360 users, but for now you can enjoy the video below to get a better idea of what FlickrShow has to offer. The app is available to download from the 360 Shop now.

Update: We caught up with Pedro and had a quick chat about the app and his plans for the future. Pedro has just joined Blip (Blip.pt) a new Portugese start-up which specialises in “mobile solutions”.

We asked if there were any phones out there that caught his eye and Pedro said that HTC’s current line up was looking “very cool”.

It’s unclear if FlickrShow will be coming to other app stores, but Blip’s site mentions that they’re keen to develop apps for multiple platforms.
