Foursquare iPhone app gets a 2.0 update

Social location app Foursquare has been updated to version 2.0 for iPhone, with similar updates in store for the Android and BlackBerry versions too.

Although 2.0 sounds like a big revision, the changes aren’t huge – although they are aimed at changing the way people use Foursquare. The company has separated out Tips and To-Do lists, and sprinkled them throughout the application rather than lumping them together in one place.

“We’re already finding that this simple change turns foursquare into more than than just a tool for keeping track of where you’ve been, but into something that keeps track of all the places you want to go and the things you want to experience,” explains the company. It may be right, too.

Another new feature is the ability for websites to include ‘Add to my Foursquare’ buttons on any page talking about a venue or location, giving people an easy way to save that place to their To-Do list in the app.
