When we first heard of the Acer Liquid Metal after it was leaked on Russian blog habrahabr, we secretly hoped that Acer had made a T-1000 style phone out of a shape-shifting mimetic polyalloy. Sadly this is not the case.
While not quite as advanced as said Skynet cyborg, it runs Froyo (the latest version of Android to date) and does indeed feature a fancy metal jacket, so perhaps it’s the next best thing.
Other rumoured specs of the Acer Liquid Metal include a capacitive touchscreen which supports multi-touch and Bluetooth 3.0.
The only details officially comfirmed by Acer is that the Liquid Metal will ship with Froyo and that it will be available in the UK at the end of October.
The leaked pictures have also been confirmed as being genuine, so from that we can infer that the Liquid Metal will be avaialble in at least two colours and that the camera will feature a flash. This would make the the Liquid Metal the first Acer smartphone to come with a flash.
