Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 rumoured for May release

Samsung has been keen to battle Apple in the high-end smartphone arena with its Galaxy S range, but handsets like the budget-minded Galaxy Ace 2 have helped to round out the South Korean’s portfolio. SamMobile has heard whispers on the wind that a Galaxy Ace 3 is currently in the works, bumping the screen size to 4-inches and bringing along some new specifications and colour options.

SamMobile says that Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Ace 3 is four different colour options, not unlike its other handsets. Those will include Metallic Black, Metallic Blue, Pure White, and Wine Red. As for specifications, the screen will see a jump from 3.8-inches to 4-inches. There’s no mention of what resolution the screen will be, however.

Other specifications will include a five megapixel camera, 4GB of internal memory, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 1,500mAh battery, all running on Jelly Bean. SamMobile hasn’t locked down details of which processor Samsung will use, although the publication suspects a 1.2Ghz dual-core chip may be present, up from the 800Mhz dual-core used in the Galaxy Ace 2.

The release date for the Galaxy Ace 3 is currently set for Week 22/23, which would put it around the end of May or beginning of June. The pricing is expected to target a budget-conscious audience too, with SamMobile believing it will cost €300 (around £255) or lower.
