Gametel: transform your Android smartphone into a gaming handheld

There are some excellent games available for Android and now instead of jabbing at the touchcreen, it’s possible to play them on your smartphone using an old-school gaming contoller.

Devloped by Fructel: Gametel is a wireless controller compete with a D-Pad, shoulder triggers and four buttons, which pairs wirelessly with your Android smartphone using Bluetooth.

Gametel includes an adjustable spring-loaded clamp enabling you to dock your smartphone and play it like a traditional handheld. Alternatively connect your handset to a high definition television via HDMI and you can play from the comfort of your sofa using your control, even indulging in a bit of multiplay with multiple controllers.

Bo Nyman, CEO of Fructel says: “Playing casual games on a touchscreen phone is fine but when it comes to playing the more addictive and immersive titles, seamless gameplay is impossible. The Gametel controller overcomes this problem by delivering a console experience on your Android device, freeing the screen from fingers, opening up a bigger viewing area and delivering more responsive physical controls.”

Compatible with smartphones and tablets running Android 2.1.1 or later, to use Gametel you need to download the app. 50 titles are currently compatible including: Cordy, Asphalt 5 HD, Happy Vikings and Zenoni.

Gametel is available now for £49.95. Gaming geeks that we are we can’t wait to try Gametel, so we’ll bring you a full review as soon as possible.
