Why would you pay £2.99 for the official app for a festival that you’ve already splashed out on tickets for? Well, in UK festival Bestival’s case, it’s because the app might save you money while on-site.
The app takes place on the Isle of Wight next week, with a stellar line-up. The app will keep you up to date in the run-up, with a live news feed, a map of the festival site, and details on how to get to and around the island.
Meanwhile, during the event the app will access a regularly updated running order, so you can plan which bands to see. Official Twitter feeds for the festival and its head honcho Rob da Bank are built in too, along with video footage and photo galleries.
However, it’s the voucher element that should make the app worth the money. It promises to “bring you special money saving vouchers from retailers and stalls which you can use at the festival”.
If that means cut-price burgers and noodles to line our stomachs for a gallon of cider, count us in! Although it has to be said, if it means a couple of quid off the price of a jester hat, we’re well and truly ‘oot’.
