If you’ve got $1m (around £650,000) burning a hole in your pocket and a hankering for a new mobile phone, do yourself a favour and don’t buy the Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot handset.
Gresso, the company behind the headline grabbing million-dollar mobile, has created the handset from 180g of pure gold encrusted with over 45,000 black diamonds. Obviously, that’s not enough ridiculous bling to cram onto one phone, so each button on the basic 1-9 numberpad is a crystal sapphire – hand-polished and laser-engraved, no less. Did you hear that? LASERS.
There’s also a back panel crafted from 200-year old African Blackwood, apparently that’s good. What’s more, they’re only manufacturing three of these bad boys. We’ll be surprised if there are enough people with an out-of-balance money/sense ratio to cause them to sell out, to be honest.
Despite all the gold and diamonds and whatnot, the handset is just 12mm thin, has a camera… oh what do we care about specs? We’re not going to buy it. It’s horrible. Just like pretty much every other luxury phone ever released, we wouldn’t buy the Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot even if we did have a million dollars lying around.
