The Honor 6X has just been launched, ahead of its 2017 UK release. This mid-range mobile phone offers strong value for money, if the specs and features are anything to go by, but how does it compare with the other two big Honor phones released in the past year – the Honor 8 and the Honor 5X? Here’s everything you need to know.

Honor 6X vs Honor 5X vs Honor 8: Features
Like the Honor 5X before it, the Honor 6X boasts a rugged metal finish. The Honor 6X’s aluminium alloy body should help to protect it from bumps and scrapes although we still prefer the sleek glass finish of the more premium Honor 8. You can pick up the Honor 6X in grey, gold and silver finishes.
The 5.5-inch Full HD screen is a match for the Honor 5X’s in terms of size and resolution, although it also boasts a blue light filter and 450-nits brightness. The Honor 8 actually sports a smaller display at 5.2-inches, although once again you get a Full HD resolution and that blue light filter.
All three Honor phones sport a fingerprint sensor, for quick and convenient security. You can swipe and poke these fingerprint sensors to browse photos, turn off alarms, take selfies and so on.
Inside the Honor 6X you’ll find a Kirin 655 octa-core CPU, backed up by 3GB RAM. You also get 32GB of internal storage, along with microSD memory card support. We expect it will support cards up to 256GB, just like the Honor 8 before it.
The Honor 6X also boasts the biggest battery in this comparison review, at 3340mAh compared with 3000mAh cells in the other two phones. Honor reckons you’ll get over two full days of use on a single charge.
Like the Honor 8, the Honor 6X sports a dual-lens rear camera with a 12-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensor – that’s a downgrade from the Honor 8’s dual 12-megapixel sensors, but still an improvement (we hope) on the Honor 5X’s single 13-megapixel lens. You get phase detection autofocus and an LED flash, while Honor promises we’ll enjoy strong low light performance. Noise levels are apparently reduced thanks to Honor’s Deep Trench Isolation (DTI) tech – something we’ll be sure to test in our full Honor 6X review.
