HP has announced HP webOS Pivot, a new monthly resource designed to showcase new webOS applications that have been designed for the the HP TouchPad.
With a strong emphasis on visuals as well as editorial, Pivot comprises of original content, including columns, visually driven editorial pieces, feature stories and reviews from journalists and photographers who write for leading publications.
User will be able to explore content based on their interests and it also acts as a portal for developers to show off their content.
“Pivot has the right focus,” said Joe Simon, chief technology officer, Conde Nast. “It provides an enriching experience for customers and is a great environment for developers considering the platform.”
“Pivot brings app discovery to a new level for customers and developers alike,” said Richard Kerris, from HP. “We want our partners to experience webOS as the growing platform of opportunity, and we’re investing in new ways to help market their applications on our platform.”
Designed to complement the HP WebOS app catalog, the first issue will be available following the release of the HP Touchpad on July 1st. Initially published in English, French, Spanish and German, content will vary from region to region, it will be updated automatically over the air.
