If you brought a HP TouchPad or HP Pre 3 before the company turned it’s back on webOS and the dramatic price drops started, you could be entitled to a refund.
The HP Refund Program enables users to claim compensation on a selection of Qualifying HP Products. Users will be able to claim the difference between what they paid and a minimum price determined by HP.
So for example, if you bought the HP TouchPad 16GB WiFi you’ll receive then difference between the purchasing price and £89, if you bought the HP TouchPad 64GB and you can get up to £159 back. Full details are below, but this also applies to the HP Pre 3.
It’s been a rollercoaster few months for HP. First it ditched webOS due to the tricky tablet market, consequently HP dropped the price of the TouchPad to £89, leading to stock shortages as technology fans clamoured to get their hands-on the tablet.
This is excellent news for HP customers – especially as it’s likely that first adaptors who paid full price will have been Palm fans, keen to try webOS in tablet format.
The HP Refund Program is open now to customers from the UK, France, Ireland and Germany. Users needs to have activated their webOS account prior to 23rd August 2011 and you need to have your serial number and invoice.
