HP TouchPad owners to get free app “six-pack”

HP has presumably seen an explosion in TouchPad users, following its very (too?) successful fire sale.

On the Palm blog, HP has announced it’ll be offering a free app set (costing over $30 separately) to its US customers, with the rest of its customers likely to get a similar app boost is the very near future.

Glimpse adds split-screen functionality to the TouchPad, which is also customisable, whilst the Kung Fu Panda 2 Storybook brings pictures and voices from the film alive on your tablet.

Two games, Big Boss and Sparkle HD are also included in the package, whilst Camera for TouchPad adds some more options to control and share your photos with other apps.

Ornithologists can rejoice, as Audubon Birds, a ‘digital field guide to North American birds’ with encyclopaedic information, photography and even bird songs to round out the free pack. Well, at least there’s 5 good ones..

To get your hands on these, you’ll need to make sure you have a TouchPad with a functioning profile (that is; you’ve registered with HP) and have some sort of credit card assigned to your account. When you buy the above apps, type in the promo code and you’ll get them gratis. It’s for a limited period, the US offer lasts until 31st August 2011.
