HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa: HTC’s Facebook phones revealed

Surprise; HTC was working on a Facebook phone after all. Two to be precise, the curiously named HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa.

Like INQ’s Cloud Touch which we saw last week, both of these Android phones have Facebook features deeply ingrained into their fabric. Things like Facebook Events that you click ‘Attending’ on get synced to the calendar and there’s an IM client specifically for Facebook Chat.

Both of these phones prominently feature a blue ‘F’ Facebook button on the front. This is a context-sensitive key that allows you to post details of what you’re listening to on your wall, share links, upload photos, check in at a location and simply update your status, all from one button.

The HTC ChaCha and Salsa both have a main 5-megapixel camera and VGA front-facing cameras. Both of the phones have around 512MB of interal memory and microSD slots for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

In fact, they’re more or less identical in terms of spec. The only real difference is that the ChaCha has a big Qwerty keypad and a 2.6-inch touchscreen, and the Salsa has a 3.4-inch touchscreen.

The HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa are both due to hit the UK in the summer.
