HTC Endeavor now One X and HTC Ville Now One S

The new names for HTC’s upcoming phones may have finally been revealed and the Endeavor / Edge will now be the HTC One X while the HTC Ville will be the HTC One S. The X and S will appear after the word ‘One’ in superscript resulting in the names appearing like so: HTC OneX / HTC One S.

HTC One X also known as the HTC Edge and HTC EndeavorThe name One X was unveiled to PocketNow by insiders and strikes up memories of an HTC concept device characterised by edge to edge glass and a hinged body. Slashgear have supplemented this information with a name change to the HTC Ville, now dubbed the One S.

Despite name changes the specs of the upcoming HTC handsets remain unchanged with the One X expected to arrive with a 1.5GHz Tegra 3 chipset, 4.7-inch 720p display while the One S will still sport a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm processor and 4.3-inch qHD display. Both handsets will have Android 4.0 and HTC’s Sense 4.0 on board which was recently exposed in an RUU leak.

Along with the One X and One S, HTC will likely reveal another handset and a tablet at MWC at the end of the month in a bid to pick up their figures after a bumpy Q4 2011.
