3D has been one of the hot technology topics of the last few years. After LG, HTC is only the second manufacturer to introduce a mobile phone capable of capturing 3D movies and stills. That handset is the EVO 3D.
Running Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 and equipped with a dual-core processor, the Evo 3D runs the latest version of HTC Sense, which includes features like a customisable lockscreen, 3D carousel and some redesigned widgets.
The 4.3-inch 540×960 screen is huge, making it a good choice for browsing, other features include Watch, HTC’s movie rental service, while DLNA lets you stream directly to a TV set.
Of course, the standout feature is 3D and the EVO includes dual f/2.3 cameras and dual 5-megapixel sensors, each one designed to replicate what the right eye and what the left eye see, too create a final 3D picture. Like the LG Optimus 3D you can play back 3D on the screen without using special glasses.
So what did we think of this phone? Is it just another gimmicky gadget that’s jumping on the 3D bandwagon? Or is it a forward-looking device packed with cutting-edge technology? Check out our video review below to find out.
