HTC Omega shots emerge, HTC’s new Windows Phone 7 device?

Whoever Pocketnow’s source at HTC is, they sure have been coming up with some interesting stuff of late.

The latest leak HTC leak to hit our peepers is the so-called HTC Omega, purportedly runs on Windows Phone 7 Mango, as evidenced by what looks like a front-facing camera up on the top right and the Metro UI.

Accompanying the press shots is a list of spec, ‘rumoured to be’ a 3.8-inch SLCD screen, an 8-megapixel camera, 1.5GHz Snapdragon MSM8255 chip and 512MB of RAM.

Nothing was mentioned megapixel-wise about the front-facer. But given that HTC’s Android phones have featured front cameras of the 0.3 and 1.3-megapixel variety we can expect the one here to be either one of these.

Design wise, the Omega borrows the white and silver stylings of the HTC Flyer and seems to borrow from last year’s 7 Trophy phone, shape-wise at least.

So it might come with Xbox LIVE integration as well as the rest of the WP7 goods. Or it might not; HTC was tight-lipped when we spoke to them just now, offering a ‘no comment on rumour and speculation’. Spoilsports.

With HTC’s big party in London just days away, we can expect “a few phone treats to enjoy.” We’ll have to wait and see if the Omega will be amoung them.
