Original HTC One (M7) UK owners get Sense 6.0

UK owners of the original HTC One (M7) can now enjoy full Sense 6.0 thanks to an upgrade that’s rolling out right now. Here’s

If you’re still rocking the original HTC One (M7), then kudos – it’s still an awesome phone that stands up well to the new HTC One M8. And now you can enjoy all of the new Sense 6.0 features on your original One – well, almost all of them – thanks to HTC’s rolling update which is already rolling out across the UK.

HTC One M7 owners can upgrade to Sense 6.0 today in the UK

Can I update my HTC One to Sense 6.0 now, and how do I do it?

If you’re on O2 or Three, or have an unlocked HTC One M7, you should already be able to get the update immediately. If your phone hasn’t already prompted you to update, simply head to the settings (via the apps menu or notification bar), and then go to About Phone > Software Update, and hit ‘Check now’.

If you’re on Vodafone or EE, you might have to wait a little longer (depending on when you read this) as HTC is still getting Sense 6.0 ready for you. However, you should check HTC’s update page to make sure, as this was just the status at time of writing. If it now says ‘push to customer’ next to your carrier, then good news! You should be receiving the update.

What’s new in Sense 6.0?

Oooh, tons of stuff, most of it awesome.

As well as general theme updates for the interface and some of HTC’s apps, you get a fresh new BlinkFeed page that supports even more news feeds and enjoys better navigation; an enhanced Zoe mode that’s now more flexible, allowing you to take quick snaps or movies as well as 3-second Zoe clips; and general tweaks for the mail, message, calendar and phone apps, to name just a few.

Of course, you won’t get the Sense 6.0 features that use the HTC One M8’s dual lenses, as the original HTC One only has a single lens. So no focus shifting for you.
