HTC One M8 Mini ditches the Ultrapixel camera

A first glimpse of the HTC One M8 Mini’s specs reveals the Ultrapixel camera has been ditched for a 13-megapixel snapper.

The one sticking point with the glorious HTC One M8 is its Marmite-esque Ultrapixel camera, which has really divided users into love and hate categories. Haters might be intrigued to discover the upcoming HTC One M8 Mini apparently won’t feature an Ultrapixel lens, if the latest leak from Taiwan is pure fact.

HTC One M8 Mini will not rock an Ultrapixel camera

The report from ePrice Taiwan hints at a May release and also reveals many of the specs, including a standard 13-megapixel rear camera. The HTC One M8 Mini will also apparently sport a 4.5-inch 720p screen, like last year’s HTC One Mini, and a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor. Looks like your typical mid-ranger but with a beefed up camera – not quite a miniaturised version of the original five-star flagship, like Sony’s Xperia Z1 Compact.

We’ll hopefully hear more from HTC about the One M8 Mini soon, but in the meantime, what do you think of the leaked specs? Would you prefer an Ultrapixel camera on the Mini? Let us know in the comments below.
